How we handle your data
A plain-language summary of what pithie stores and why. See the Privacy Policy for the full version, including the Google User Data section.
What you connect
You sign in with Clerk, then connect Gmail through Google OAuth. pithie only receives
Gmail access after you explicitly authorize it. We request the
gmail.modify scope so we can sync mail and apply
label changes you make in the app.
What we store
- Your pithie user record (linked to your Clerk identity)
- Gmail OAuth tokens and connected-account identity fields
- Synced thread and message data (headers, labels, subjects, and extracted body text)
- Derived reading summaries produced by AI processing
What we use it for
Mail data is used to show your inbox, keep it in sync, apply label actions you take, and generate reading summaries. We do not sell your mail content or use Google user data for advertising.
AI processing
Summarization sends mail-derived subject and body text to model providers (via OpenRouter) to generate reading aids for that message. We do not use Google user data to create, train, or improve generalized AI models.
Your controls
- Disconnect Gmail from Settings in the app
- Delete your pithie account from Settings
- Revoke access under your Google Account’s third-party connections
- Follow step-by-step instructions on the deletion page
Google API Limited Use
